Well, Rudd, Gillard and their party seem to be making a few right moves at the moment... the appointment of the very accomplished Quentin Bryce as Australia's first female governor-general is cause for jubilation by women no matter what their political 'bent' - an HERSTORICAL occasion!!! I don't believe in the office, but while it does exist it's about time a woman occupied it. She may also be the LAST govenor-general appointed - and that would be another momentous cause for celebration - I certainly don't believe the representative of a foreign monarch has any part to play in the Australian political landscape, do you???
